Malcolm Young was one of the founding members of one of the greatest (and biggest selling) rock bands of all time. AC/DC have sold more albums than U2, the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith and Queen, yet they never received as much media attention and praise. AC/DC did one thing, they rocked hard and they did it better than anyone else. They never tried to be anything other than a loud blues driven rock n roll band.
Angus also lost his brother George in October of this year. He was an extremely important part of AC/DC’s early albums, acting as a producer and giving musical guidance to his younger brothers.
These 3 brothers along with Bon Scott started something that has never been duplicated – AC/DC in the 1970s and 1980s was rock n roll at it’s best. They were the absolute greatest band on the stage and in the studio.
Our thoughts are with the Young family in what is surely been a rough few months.
Thank you, Malcolm, for enhancing our lives and leaving us with some of the greatest and the purest music ever made. – Mark Strigl

It is a sad day in rock and roll. Malcolm Young was my friend and the heart and soul of AC/DC. I had some of the best times of my life with him on our 1984 European tour. He will be missed and my deepest condolences to his family, bandmates and friends.
