“Jim Gillette has a great death metal voice that he didn’t have back then” says MAB on TM 650

Listen to “TM 650 Michael Angelo Batio” on Spreaker.
On this episode of Talking Metal, Mark Strigl speaks with Michael Angelo Batio about the newly reformed Nitro.  Topics include Lamb Of God, Chris Adler, Jim Gillette, Josh Wilbur, Nitro’s new album, NAMM, Brian Tichy, the MAB String Dampener, his instructional videos and much more. The chat with Michael starts 13mins 20 secs into the podcast.

Quotes from the interview:

On Chris Adler – “He’s a member of Nitro now.”

On Nitro’s new musical direction – “Jim has a great death metal voice that he didn’t have back then and he’s going to be singing, there is going to be singing and there’s going to be super heavy death sounds. / To categorize what we are doing, if you think part Lamb Of God, a very small part that nods to the past <of Nitro> only because Jim is singing first and the music is super, super aggressive.   I am using all 7 strings on the guitar. It’s mean. It’s really mean.”

This episode also features music by the band Ironaut.
